RESPONSIBILITIES-Consists of:  Pastor(s), President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer and 5 voting members of the congregation.  Oversee general operations of the church/congregation, financial, reporting and committees.  This is for congregational Committees and Standing Committees.  Minutes are to be kept for all meetings. Visions of the Future- (Congregation Ministries and Stewardship)

RESPONSIBILITIES-Mission Statement:  Calling forth the members of this church to support, respond to and foster relationships through our God given gifts; time, talents and resources, for the proclamation of the Gospel.   Responsible for Nurturing and care of the members of the congregation and evangelical witness to the community:  Evangelism – Develop outreach programs to the community, soliciting support of all members in evangelical outreach.  Encourage member participation in congregational activities, events, committees, etc. .  Coordinate with finance committee to do the ‘Time and Talents’ portion of the Stewardship program.  Be responsible for alerting, promoting and interpreting to the congregation all financial needs, approved by the Congregational Council.  Encourage development and participation in Small Group, Bible Study and Christian Education.  Lay Calling – Organize & train members for lay calling functions.  Utilize lay members to call on visitors and prospective members.  Utilize lay members to call on members that are becoming inactive.  Bi-monthly review of church attendance and active, inactive membership lists to assimilate new members into the church and encourage existing membership involvement.  Minutes are to be kept for all meetings.

Social Cares & Concerns Comittee

RESPONSIBILITIES-All programs and projects of an outreach nature that benefit and assist not only people of our community but also the world in which we live such as (Monthly Community Dinner, Habitat, Meals on Wheels, Food Bank, Tree of Sharing, etc.).  Responsible for external programs or projects as they deem appropriate.  Minutes to be kept for all meetings. Monthly meetings-3rd Thursdays

Worship & Music Committee

RESPONSIBILITIES-implementation and growth of our worship life, through various forms of worship settings and services.  Maintain our rich Lutheran heritage while allowing the identity of HTLC to be expressed and appreciated.  Responsible for Nursery, Altar Guild and overseeing and supervision of the congregational ‘Church Teams’.  This consists of dividing the congregation into Teams with at least 2-3 team leaders.  The leaders shall be trained to the Team Leads Job Description and are responsible for securing participation of all team members in the areas including but not limited to the following:  lector, greeters, ushers, acolyte, communion assistant, communion bread, fellowship, flowers (unless on calendar), other activities as requested by the Worship & Music Committee or Pastor(s).  Minutes are kept of all meetings. 1st. Tue. – 7:00 p.m.  

Property Committee

RESPONSIBILITIES-maintaining all church property (including SFLP).  Evaluate and maintain all insurance policies and keep HTLC in compliance with all legal requirements of all property.  Meetings 2nd Thurs. 7:00 p.m.  

 

Ad-HOC COMMITTEES

Care Team Parish  Nurse/Care Ministries

RESPONSIBILITIES-Church members who carry out the function(s) of parish nurse/care ministry with several members offering their expertise in nursing, care giving, faith, and fellowship to others who are members, non-members, shut-ins, elderly, anyone in need of a listening ear, drivers, health information or fellowship with a caring person of faith.  Minutes are kept of all meetings.

Lutherhaven Auction-Scholarships for campers  (Ad-Hoc Committee as needed)

RESPONSIBILITIES-planning and organizing the Lutherhaven Auction each year.  Consists of members from the Tri-churches (and others) along with youth helpers during the fundraiser.  This is a fundraiser to raise money for camperships in order to provide church members and outreach ministries connected with Camp Lutherhaven and associated camps where assistance is needed to attend. Camperships are made available for all ages, single, youth and families as needs arise over the summer and into the year as money is available. (Scholarships available through Good Shepherd Lutheran Church – Secretary).  Minutes are kept.
Events Committee Weddings, Funerals, Social Formally Fellowship and Social comittee

RESPONSIBILITIES-Mission Statement:  To help people become involved and stay active with others ‘In Gods Community’.  Coming together, staying together and enjoying each others company as ‘ONE BODY IN CHRIST’.  Involvement in helping Pastor with Wedding Planning and Funerals/Memorials as requested.  Planning and organization of Socials within the congregation and outreach ministries through HTLC, GS and CLC.  Minutes are kept of all meetings.1st Sunday – After Fellowship.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:   Below are Christian Youth Events/Activities not run by HTLC and/or JVLM directly but through involvement with the Tri-church Youth Director – Gordon Fitch and other Christian Youth Leaders.

 

‘ALLY’  Lutheran Churches are working together to offer Youth Events at least 3-4 times a year.  (scholarships are available) if needed.  Please contact Gordon Fitch – Tri-Church - Youth Director and ALLY coordinator if interested in attending or volunteering to help.   

 

 

 

‘UNITED’All denominations of churches working together to offer Christian Youth Services/Events on a rotation basis at different churches (size appropriate for event).  The last Youth Service Events were attended by approximately 800+ youth.  If you have any questions, please contact Gordon Fitch – Tri-Church Youth Director and ‘UNITED’ Coordinator.
